Meek Motorsports is based in Moore, OK and the primary purpose is for brothers Michael and Carson Meek to be competitive in racing. Our focus for 2010 will be Carson racing karts at local and regional events, as well as Michael competing for a championship in the Bandolero. Although we have not been in the sport long, we have won several events and have become very competitive. Check our Schedule and come watch us race.

We decided to race karts at the home track in Norman and get some practice for Carson for the Regional coming up in two weeks. Carson was leading the heat when the engine quit running and pulled off the track. The Final went much better with Carson starting at the back, but moved through the six car field and had the lead by the second lap, and pulled off a WIN.

This weekend we decided to travel to a new track at Wichita Falls, TX. Although there was only three cars in Michael's class, it proved to be an eventful evening. In practice, Michael spun out of turn four and backed the car into the wall. After an intense hour of fixing the car, we started the Feature in last. Michael drove well and got another WIN on a new track.

May 15-16, 2010
This weekend we traveled back to Texas to visit Lil Texas at Texas Motor Speedway. Saturday, Michael had a tough time remembering how to drive the bando (mostly from driving a kart and a sprint car last week) finishing second in the heat. The feature wasn't much better, over driving the car the entire race and finishing SECOND. He got a long, LONG talk from his driving coach. Sunday he was a different driver, winning the heat with ease. The Feature went the same as he had a sizable lead before the caution on lap 16. With a single file restart, this would be King's only chance to get to Michael, but not today. Michael drove away and captured another WIN in the bando. A special thanks to the Webb family for coming to watch both days, and giving Michael the pep-talk (to put it nicely) he needed.

The other nite of our double header weekend was spent at the home track (OMC) in Norman, OK. Michael finished the Pre-Final in first place and would start on the pole in the final. He led flag to flag and finished FIRST out of five karts. Carson had some competition there and just didn't have enough for Lewis finishing second in the Pre-Final. The final was the same, finishing SECOND out of five karts. Papa decided to race the chonda, but had to pull off early when the seat mount broke, finishing EIGHTH. Not a bad showing for our fist day back at OMC.

This weekend, we decided to pull double duty and race the sprint car on Friday nite at I-44 Speedway for the ASCS2 race. Michael started the heat in last and raced his way up to Fifth. That started him eigth in the A main and he raced his way up to FIFTH by the end of the nite. Another decent showing at the dirt track. As before, a special thanks to the Chandler's for letting us drive their car.

May 02, 2010
This race was scheduled to be on Saturday and on the 1/4 mile in the Bando. It was moved to Sunday on the 1/5 mile (Lil Texas). Michael had a hard time with the black car and decided to drive the back-up. He finished second in the heat. In the Main, King built up a good lead, but his car began to drop off and with a lap to go, Michael made a pass for the lead and WON the main. That is the third win of the season in the bandolero.

April 24, 2010
This weekend we traveled to Denton, TX for a kart club race. It had been a while since Carson got to race. Michael ran decentin practice and qualifying and started the Pre-Final in second. The final proved to be the same result, finishing SECOND in his class. Carson improved throughout the day, qualifying fifth out of nine karts, and finishing THIRD in the Final. Not bad for his first race of the year.

April 10-11, 2010
This weekend proved to be one of the best and worst weekends in the Bando. Saturday, Michael started on pole and led flag to flag in the heat. The Feature was going well with a three car lead with five laps to go. Then, Michael spins in turn 3 (driver error). He now starts in the rear of a five car field and fights back to SECOND. After going through tech, the car is deemed illegal because it is 1/8 inch too wide (mechanics error). This is the first DQ in Michaels four years of racing. We had completely rebuilt the front end after the crash last weekend and just missed the width. Sunday Michael ran the fastest lap of his carreer at Lil Texas. He started the heat second and finished first. The Feature was a great race with Zack closing in on him. Final lap, final corner, side by side, they touch and spin . . . but Michael crosses the line first for the WIN. CONGRATS to Michael on another Bandolero win!

April 3-4, 2010
With an opportunity from Bob and Amy Chandler, Michael drove a sprint car at the Ryan Craighead Memorial at I-44 Speedway this weekend. This proved to be completely different than expected, but Michael really enjoyed the opportunity to drive and caught on pretty quick. There were 12 cars there both days, and Michael finished SIXTH Friday and SIXTH Saturday. A BIG thanks to Grady Chandler (and his family) for letting Michael drive his car and for all the help over the weekend. We are considering racing these, when time allows.

March 27-28, 2010
Back in Texas, for another double header weekend. Michael is getting lucky, drawing 12, which starts him on the pole for the heat. He leads flag to flag and starts the Feature from the pole. Michael leads to lap 15, and as usual, gets moved up the track and falls to second. This time he fights back to get under Zack on the last lap. Side by side for the lead through turns 3 and 4 . . and Michael WINS by 6 inches! FINALLY, it is his first win in the Bandolero! Sunday, he starts fifth in the heat and races to second. The Feature proves to be rough, with a car driving into the side of him on the first lap, bending the front end. A quick fix in the hot pits and back to racing, starting last. Michael drove very well and raced his way back to SECOND, out of 10 cars.

March 13-14, 2010
Welcome back! This was the first race of the 2010 Sason. Michael had not been in this car since November. Things started well with a good draw, landing him on the pole for the heat. He led flag to flag. In the Feature, Zack proved to be too fast, passing on lap 10 and leading the rest of the Feature, with Michael finishing SECOND. Sunday went the same, winning his heat, but just not enough to stay in the lead for the Feature, with another SECOND. The first win is not far off . .
