Meek Motorsports is a racing team based in Moore, OK. Team pilots for 2009 are brothers Michael and Carson Meek, Mike Meek, and Ron Hagerman. Our focus for 2009 will be racing karts at local and regional events, as well as Michael running a "rookie" season in the bandolero. Although we have not been in the sport long, we have won several events and have become very competitive. Check our Schedule and come watch us race.

03.21.09 - Bandolero Race 2 at Lil Texas

Tonite was the experience of a lifetime. Michael started practice running pretty fast. In the third session, King got under Michael , spinning and rolling Michael's race car down the front straight away. It was like it was in slow motion because he rolled to his roof and then stayed on it, skidding down the track. We have to say thanks to everyone in the pits, because 66 minutes later Michael started the make up Feature from last weekend. Starting Seventh, he raced hard and by the end of the race, he finished THIRD. After that we ran the normal Event of the night. More to come . . .

03.14.09 - Bandolero Race 1 at Lil Texas

This was the first race of the year counting towards season and national points. The track was in bad shape. It had rained for the past three days, but quit that morning. They got the track dry, but the infield was soaked and turns one and three were seeping water. The lap times were 1.5 seconds off for everyone. Michael, starting third, had a bad start in the heat. He ran forth the entire race. He started the Feature in seventh, but the track had gotten worse and after 12 laps, we had only completed 3 under green. They called the race with Michael running THIRD. We will re-race the Feature next weekend. Michael was very excited to have more family there and wants to say thanks to Uncle Papa (David), Angie, and Colby for coming to watch him race.

02.14.09 - Bandolero Winter Series 8 @ Lil Texas

Happy Valentines Day! This weekend the class size was down some due to the Winter Nationals in Florida. Michael started fifth in heat one, and that is where he finished. He would start ninth in the Feature, only to go to the back after a spin on lap three in turn one. Re-starting single file in tenth would prove to test his skills. He picked off drivers one by one and raced his way to FOURTH. This finishes the Winter Series and even though we only ran six of the eight races, we finished sixth in the points, barely missing the trophy (top 5).

02.07.09 - Bandolero Winter Series 7 @ Lil Texas

This was Michael's first time on the 1/5 mile oval called Lil Texas at Texas Motor Speedway and only his fifth race in the Bandolero. We went down Friday nite for practice and by the end of the nite, he was less than a second off of the track record. Saturday, we started the heat race on the pole, but fell to third with a bad start. He held third for the rest of the heat which started him Fifth in the Feature. This race proved to be exciting with 15 cars in the class. After the Feature start, Michael fell to eighth by lap five, then something clicked, and he charged back to finish FOURTH. He drove VERY well this weekend so Papa decided a stop was in order at Michael's favorite eatery - Babes Chicken House in Sanger, TX.

01.24-25.09 - Bandolero Winter Series 5 & 6 @ TMS

Saturday, the weather was brutal, cold and windy with a windchill in the teens. Michael started the only heat seventh, and finished sixth. The Feature had a few accidents (not us) and he worked his way up to third before spinning and finishing FIFTH out of nine. Sunday, the weather was much better. Michael drew mid pack so he started heat 2 in third. Bad went to worse when the clutch blew up on the warm up lap. He started the feature in last (10th) and was up to seventh by lap two, then worked his way up to FIFTH for the finish. Now, its off to the circle track in two weeks.

01.17.09 - Kart Winter 2 @ Denton

This weekend was not much better for us. The boys and Denton just do not get along. Carson again beat his own track record and again finished SEVENTH. Michael ran better this week and was in the pack in the Pre Final less than a second off of the leader, but his mechanic made the wrong adjustments for the Final, finishing SIXTH.

01.10-11.09 - Bandolero Winter Series 3 & 4 @ TMS

Saturday was Michael's first event in the bandolero. It was the road course inside TMS. He drew his starting position for the heat and started Heat 2 in fourth. He was in the lead by lap 3 and then lost the clutch on the final lap. He started the Feature (barely made it on the track) in last (13th) and battled up to finish NINTH. Being his first time in the car, it was different than what he expected. Sunday proved to be a better day for the Rookie. Practice went well and he was much better at handling the car. He started heat 1 on the pole. He lead for a few laps, before the veterans took over, finishing third. The Feature was better than yesterday as well, starting fifth, working up to third, and then spun in the corner and finished SIXTH out of 10. He is getting comfortable in the car and making passes now.

01.03.09 - Kart Winter 1 @ Denton

This was the first race of the year and it showed. The pilots hadn't been in their karts for nearly two months. Carson made some good laps and broke his own record at this track, finishing SEVENTH. Michael, with a back up engine that proved to be - well a back up engine, drove well and finished EIGHTH. Ron had to run TaG Senior since there were no Masters, and finished THIRD.

2008 Stats

Well the season has come to an end for Michael and Carson. Michael finished the season with 23 Events, four wins, and eleven podiums. He also won the OMC Gazelle Championship (third Championship in a row) and finished eighth in the Southwest Regional Cup, only competing in eight of the 10 events. Carson finished the season with 21 Events, eight wins, and 10 podiums. He Also won the OMC Kid Kart Championship (youngest kid ever) and finished Seventh in the Southwest Regional Cup, only competing in eight of the 10 events. They want to say thanks to Daddy - for all the time you spend, Moma - for letting us race, and most of all - Papa - for making it all possible. Thanks for all of the good times we have had this year and see you in 2009!
