It was a pretty good night for Meek Motorsports. Carson started fifth in the Pre-Final and fell to sixth by turn one. He then charged to the front of the pack and was leading by lap five and won the Pre-Final. In the Final, a pile up in turn one forced a re-start, but the damage was done. With a bent tie rod, He couldn't drive it, finishing SIXTH. Michael and Jesse battled as usual leaving the other two karts in a two kart break away, but Michael had the edge and finished both the Pre Final and the Final with a WIN. Ron battled through the pack in Pre-Final and finished with a win, and followed suit in the Final, leading every lap for his second WIN of the season. Mike, pulling double duty, finished FOURTH in Masters and a close SECOND in the WF Class. Congratulations to Michael and Ron on their hard fought wins this weekend.

This was a one day event put on in the parking lot of the NASCAR track at Kansas City, KS. This was also the first time for Michael and Carson to attempt a track set up with traffic cones. Carson had a rough time learning the track and knowing where to go, finishing FIFTH in the final. Michael got the hang of it pretty quick and was only 2/10th's of the leaders laps, but finished FOURTH - stuck in traffic. Broc Yocom adjusted to the track quick and left the field, finishing FIRST. Ron did not make the trip this weekend, attending a family reunion. Papa (Mike) took a break this weekend and helped tune for the kids. Thanks (as always) to the Yocom's for their help and congratulations to Broc for the win.

Welcome Zane Landry Meek Welcome Zane Landry Meek

We would like to introduce Zane Landry Meek. He was born on 07.18.08 at 9:50pm, weighing 8lbs 3oz and 20" long. He was a stubborn little guy, causing 21 hours of labor and coming a week early causing us to miss the SWRC Regional at Austin, TX. His brothers have forgiven him for now, although I'm sure they will pay him back later. Beware Kid Kart class of 2013 - here he comes!

After tweaking the chassis yesterday going air-borne, Carson weas a little slower, starting and finishing at the back of the pack in SEVENTH. The story of the day was Michael - he started eighth and shuffled to tenth in turn one. He balttled for ninth for four or five laps, and then he decided to drive, picking off kart after kart, one at a time. By lap twelve , he was up to fifth - but that was not good enough for him. He continued passing, and made another last lap, last corner pass to make the podium in third, which officials adjusted to SECOND. Broc battled with the leaders all day, only to lose a chain on lap one finishing TENTH. Ron battled with the leaders early, before settling in FOURTH. Mike had a better run today too, finishing FIFTH. Congratulations to Michael on his first regional podium in TaG Cadet. Thanks again to Champion Racing and Greg, Sheila and Broc Yocom for all of their help. We couldn't have done it with out you.

Wow - What a day. Carson had a field of seven karts and was going to start mid-pack, but on the warm up lap he tangled with a kid from Texas (same one) and never got to start the race. After going air-borne, The kart only had 3 tires touching the ground, so the chassis was bent. Michael took flying lessons in the pre-final in his Cadet when a kid from Texas spun right in front of him and Michael went over him, 4-5 feet in the air (gasp from Mom) and then landed it in the grass on all four tires. With help from our new teammates Brocracing (www.brocracing.com), we re-assembled the kart, and Michael battled from the back (14th) of the pack to finish SEVENTH. Our newest teammate Broc Yocom (TaG Junior), battled for the lead all day, had the fastest lap in the Final, and came home in THIRD. Ron drove a good race, but the kart was not working right for him, bringing home FOURTH. Mike was battling mid-pack all day, only to lose the chain in the Final, finishing EIGHTH. It was a pretty rough day in the Meek Motorsports Camp. Thanks to Broc for the only podium of the day. Thanks to Champion Racing and Greg, Sheila, and Broc Yocom for all of their help. Its going to be a long night.

Carson had a smaller class with just 2 karts this weekend, which happened to be the same kid from Texas that beat him last weekend. They battled all night, but Carson made the pass with 3 laps to go and never looked back, taking the WIN. Michael battled with DeKalb and Woodyard all night and finished SECOND, two kart-lengths behind DeKalb. Ron drove the kart well again this weekend, only to break a throttle cable late in the final. Mike pulled double duty, as usual, and drove well, finishing SECOND in the Masters and SECOND in the WF class also.

Carson had some competition (5 karts) in the kid kart class for the first time this year. He battled for first most of the night, but came home with a SECOND, side by side with the leader. Michael battled with Woodyard for the lead all night. In the Final, they left the rest of the field in a two kart break-away and it was Michael with a last lap pass for the WIN. Ron battled through the pack, drove a great race, and finished SECOND. Mike, pulling double duty, finished FIFTH in the Masters and THIRD in the WF Class.
